David James
Head Golf Professional, PGA, MP
David James fell in love with the game of golf at age 12 when he birdied his very first hole. He went on to earn letters in high school, community college, and Loyola Marymount University, where he also earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. With those experiences and credentials, he came to Chaparral Country Club as Head Master Professional in 1985. He because a PGA member in 1986; a PGA Master Professional in 1994. He is the only PGA Master Professional in the Coachella Valley and was voted Desert Chapter Golf Professional of the Year by his peers in 2001.

During his time at Chaparral, he has dedicated himself to teaching the game, becoming the USGA rules expert and planning activities for the golf community. He attended 40 teaching and coaching seminars, taught by some of the countries renowned teaching professionals. Using that knowledge, he wrote for the Desert Sun and Next Magazine on the golf instruction for six years. There isn't a rules question in golf that David cannot answer; he conscientiously works to remain current with the ever changing USGA rules. To date, David has successfully run over 4000 club tournaments, including hosting 45 PGA Professional-Amateur competitions.

Chaparral Country Club is truly his home away from home.
